CEO Mentoring Pte Ltd exists to facilitate the professional development of senior executives and assist organisations with growth and risk reduction through the provision of subject matter experts across the world. The company is based in Singapore with representatives located in Europe, the Americas, Asia and Australia.
It aims to be the leader in premium mentoring to senior executives and the provision of subject matter experts within any industry across the world. CEO Mentoring focuses on the provision of premium mentoring to top CEOs, directors, “C” suite executives, succession targets in organisations, newly promoted executives and new appointees to senior roles.
Because it operates globally, CEO Mentoring delivers its services in a range of formats driven by the needs of its clients. It bends to the needs of the client by securing the right expertise and support regardless of location, to ensure that they get the advice they need whenever they need it.
Although face-to-face engagement is valued, many of its mentors-in-confidence (MICs)and subject matter experts (SMEs) are dispersed around the world. For that reason, services are delivered on whatever platform is desired by the client: in-person, by phone, electronically, or on a communication platform that suits the mentor and mentee. And because it offers global services, it is naturally able to provide its services in multiple languages.
CEO Mentoring’s MICs and SMEs are senior, very experienced and highly competent experts in their field. Before CEO Mentoring accepts a MIC or SME, it goes through a rigorous screening, evaluation and reference checking process to ensure that the experts offered to clients are what they say they are.
Mentoring vs Coaching
Coaching is task oriented. The focus is on concrete issues, such as managing more effectively, speaking more articulately, and learning how to think strategically. This requires a content expert (coach) who is capable of teaching the coached in how to develop these skills.
Mentoring is relationship oriented. It seeks to provide a safe environment where the mentee shares whatever issues affect his or her professional and personal success. Although specific learning goals or competencies may be used as a basis for creating the relationship, its focus goes beyond these areas to include things, such as work/life balance, self-confidence, self-perception, and how the personal influences the professional.
This relationship building provides the foundations for personal and business growth therefore facilitating the opportunity to reach the Company’s measurable goals. It also provides for a safe environment to discuss issues that could not be comfortably discussed within the organisation or with outsiders, thus diminishing risk to the mentee and the organisation. The ability to draw on the wisdom of subject matter experts is a significant bonus in augmenting understanding and decision making.
The CEO Mentoring Process
The following process is used by CEO Mentoring in its premium mentoring service:
- The Client organisation identifies its mentee candidates.
- CEO Mentoring executives meet with each mentee to identify their needs and preferences.
- CEO Mentoring provides the Client Organisation with a shortlist of three potential mentors that match the requirements of the mentee.
- The mentee meets the three mentors and selects the best fit.
- The mentor and mentee agree their preferred mode of communication.
- Mentor-mentee relationship commences.
